Jonathan Mela Juma, mni The Ag. Director General was born on 5th July, 1960, in Billiri, Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State. He started his primary school in 1966 and upon completion in 1972, proceeded to Government Secondary School, Gombe in 1973 from where he obtained the WAEC in1977. He then gained admition into the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, which prepared him for admission into the same University. He graduated with a B.Sc. Political Science in 1981. He also acquired a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Jos in 1989 and a Certificate in Industrial Development from IDEP, Senegal in 1998. During the NYSC in 1981/82, he served as Logistic Officer with the Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO), Borno State. Thereafter, he was appointed to act as the Register of the College of Education, Azare, from where he transferred his services to the Federal Civil Service in 1988. He served in various capacities in several Federal Ministries, including: Industry, Culture and Tourism, Works and Housing, Communications, Women Affairs and Social Development, Education and Niger Delta Affairs. After attaining the rank of Director in 2010, Mr. Juma served as the Director, Planning, Research and Statistic at the Federal Civil Service Commission, from where he was nominated to attend the Senior Executive Course No.35, 2013 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. He bagged the award of Member of the National Institute (mni), in 2013. After the Course, he served as Director, Human Resources in the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development. He was also in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, as a Director in the Hon. Minister’s Office. He has represented the Federal Government interests on the Boards of Savannah Sugar Company Ltd., Centre for Automotive Design and Development, Alvan Ikoku College of Education, National Institute for Social and Economic Research (NISER) and the National Office for Technology \acquisition and Transfer (NOTAP). He becomes 10th Secretary/Director of Administration of National Institute, Kuru, a position he assumed on 2nd February, 2015. Following the end of tenure of the former Director-General, Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, OFR, which took effect from 25th February, 2016, The Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, vide letter Ref.SH/OVP/DCOS/NIPSS, dated 2nd March, 2016, approved the appointment of Mr. Jonathan Mela Juma, mni as the Acting Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru..
